Daniel Raymond Davis Jr.

Biography:

Daniel Raymond Davis Jr., 85, of Hallowell passed away at his home om March 17, 2014.

He was born on November 22, 1928 in Portland, the son of  Daniel and Ada Davis. 

He lived in Cape Elizabeth until he was 14, then the family moved to Windham. He graduated from Windham High School in 1948. He then went in to the Air Force for 2 years. After his discharge from the Air Force he worked for the Kennebec Journal in Advertising for 30 years. 

In 1951 he married Betty Reeves and they were married for 26 years. 

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Donnabeth  Davis of Portland; son Mark Davis and fiance Diann Brunelle of Whitefield. He had 9 grandchildren, Sandra Gidney and husband Chris of Palermo, Roxanne Cote and husband Mark of Beaufort, S.C., Eric Davis of Duluth, MN, Sara Ringold ahd husband Johnathan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Ethan Rudolph of Los Angeles, CA, Sebastian Rudolph of Portland, Aaron Rudolph of Portland, Adam Rudolph of Portland, Nola Davis of Portland. He had 5 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son Ryamond Clifton Davis; his mother and father; brother Bradford Davis; sisters Betty Ann Johnson and Deborah Avery. 

He was a 32nd Degree mason and belonged to the Shriners, American Legion and the Elks Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons.

He was very well known around the Hallowell area. He always had a friendly smile and a good story to tell. He was also known for his beautiful singing voice.

There will not be any services at this time. Burial will be held privately at a later at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at FuneralAlternatives.net
