Biography:

Greene- Lionel Champagne, 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Hewas born in Lewiston Maine, August 26, 1942. Son of Jeannette (Lessard) and Roland Champagne.

 

He was educated in Lewiston Schools. He worked at Blue Rock industries for several years and as a hand sewer in several shoe shops for the rest of his career retiring from Rancourt Shoe in 2016. He enjoyed gardening and was a craftsman enjoying woodworking and handyman jobs.

 

He married Pauline Doyon on May 22 1965. He had two daughters, Christine (Robert) Moore and Cynthia (Matthew) McDougall, four grandchildren Dylan Moore and Allyson, Derek Moore and Julianna, Kaitlyn (Eric) Tillman, and Brady Lessard. Also two great grandchildren.

Siblings Richard (Joni) Lessard, Ronald (Marcella) Lessard, Debra (Gerry) Houle, Linda (Jeffrey) Marcotte. Several nieces and nephews.

Lionel was predeceased by his parents, a brother Robert Champagne, several aunts and uncles.

There will be a service for Lionel on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1pm in the Chapman Room at Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Auburn.

The family would ask that donations be made in his memory to the Dempsey Center, PO Box 277 Auburn, ME 04212.
