MAYNARD EARL BURNS 1945 - 2017
Maynard Earl Burns, 72 of Bridgton, Maine, died after a long battle with lung cancer on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, Maine with his loving family by his side. Maynard was a resident of Lewiston for many years prior to settling in Bridgton, Maine. He was born in Friendship on February 10, 1945, son of the late Harry L. and Fonie (Boyd) Burns of Camden, Maine. When Maynard was young he lived on a farm in Lincolnville, Maine with his parents and seven siblings. Later in life he started and worked in his own Handyman business. Maynard enjoyed starting his day having coffee with his friends at Macdonald Motors in Bridgton. He loved spending time with his family, eating out and going dancing at the Silver Spur with his ex-wife, Dianne Lane-Burns. Though they were divorced they remained together and Dianne was by his side through his final days. Maynard was a hard worker with strong work ethics. He had a kind and a generous heart. If he was your friend, it was for life. In addition to his parents, Maynard was predeceased by his birth mother, Madeline (Sidelander) Burns; three brothers, Edd and Larry Thomas, and Douglas Burns; three brother-in-law's, Charles Andrews, Bob Davis and Ron Duhamel. Members of his family include his ex-wife, Dianne Lane-Burns; his daughter, Fonnie Hunt and husband Richard; a son, Doug Mike Burns; three granddaughters, Sierra, Ashly, and Jennifer; one grandson, Arron; his brother, Bob Thomas and wife Jackie; two sisters. Judith Duhamel and Pauline Davis; a sister-in-law, Debra Burns; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also has a brother, Malcolm L. Burns who's where a bouts are unknown. Per Maynard's wishes there will be no calling hours. Funeral service will be private with immediate family members only. His family would like to thank everyone at the Hospice House for their kindness and heart felt words during his stay.
