Biography:
NORTH YARMOUTH – David P. Burnell, 70, of North Yarmouth went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2017. He was the son of Guy and Elsie Burnell of Cumberland.
He is a graduate of Greely Institute. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy as a Boiler Man on the cruiser, USS Newport News. Most of his career was in the automobile industry as a Service Adviser and Manager. Later he was a Patroleum Inspector in South Portland.
David enjoyed spending time with his family. He always looked forward to the food and the fun.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debra Burnell; his sisters, Jean Crawford and husband Clayton, Marjorie Eames and husband A. Charles, and Barbara Thompson; and a brother, Donald Burnell and wife Jan. He was dearly loved by many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 11am at the Windham Assembly of God, 1051 Roosevelt Trail in Windham. A gathering will follow the service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Moss Side Cemetery.
