Gail M Brown
Date of Death: January 2, 2025
Date of Birth: February 20, 1956
Biography:
Show kindness, forgive freely, stand up for what's right, never give up on a single person. Gail Marie Brown embodied these values in every way, big and small. Gail was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and the truest friend.
She was born in Lewiston, Maine, in 1956 and from an early age committed her life to helping others. She graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington and spent her career and personal life working in ways to help people from all walks of life. She cared deeply for people facing adversity and would go to the ends of the earth to support a fellow human. She had an innate sense of what a person needed—the right gift at the right time, another chance, a hug. She was selfless, empathetic, humble, strong. She participated in a clinical trial to advance research and treatment of pulmonary hypertension, and even in the last hours of her life expressed a profound desire that future discoveries be shared in ways that would help the most people possible.
The greatest joy in Gail's life were her children and grandchildren. She put them first above all else and found the deepest pleasure in anything that made them happy or successful. In a time where she could have been more comfortable at home, she showed up to soccer fields, robotics tournaments, elementary school concerts. We don't think she had any regrets, but our only regret is that she won't be earthside to watch Tyson, Natalia, Charlotte and Parker grow and change. We think we'll see and feel her though, in a spring bird's call, a really cool rock, a morning swim, a lake paddle, a tulip peeking up through the earth, a worn flannel shirt, a roaring woodstove fire.Â
