Linda J. Boulgier

Date of Death: June 20, 2016

Date of Birth: January 10, 1949

Biography:

Linda J. Boulgier went home to be with the Lord on June 20th with her daughter, Amanda, by her side at Glenridge Nursing Home. She was born in Lewiston on January 10, 1949, to her parents Marie and Justin Doane. Linda was raised in Mechanic Falls where she graduated from high school. She was the oldest of five siblings and enjoyed her role as the big sister. Linda was active in school sports such as softball and cheerleading. She greatly enjoyed teaching Sunday School at the First Congregational Church of Mechanic Falls. At the age of 19, Linda moved to Augusta in order to work at the Hallowell Shoe Company. It was there that she would meet the love of her life, Norman. They were married in Mechanic Falls on June 30, 1979. Linda and Norman spent 36 wonderful years together, always taking care of one another and never leaving each other's side. Linda was employed for Hallowell Shoe Company, Downeast Pharmacy in Winthrop, and Omnicare Pharmacy. Her most recent career was working as a receptionist at Augusta Pulmonary Medicine. She worked there for 10 years and faced every patient with a smile and a blood pressure cuff. She was a long standing member of the Augusta First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School, VBS, and Junior Church for many years. Linda enjoyed camping with her family, visits to Camden, listening to the Gaither's, crocheting, drinking Coke, and going to the Fryeburg Fair. Linda also loved going to Big Al's in Wiscasset and was surprised when Big Al visited her while she was at Glenridge. She was predeceased by her parents Justin and Marie; brother Alan; husband Norman; and a baby daughter. She is survived by her daughter Amanda, her husband Scott, and grandson Zachary. She is also survived by two sisters, Mavis and her husband David of Dracut, MA; Colleen and her husband Richard of South Paris; one brother, Brian and his wife Ann of Litchfield, NH, and many brother and sisters-in-law. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Linda is also survived by her close friend and boss, Dr. James Brassard, whom she considered a son. His care and love for Linda will always be cherished and never forgotten. The latest and possibly greatest joy in Linda's life was her grandson. Zachary loved his Grammy B. They shared stories, hugs, songs, and lots of love. Linda's family would like to thank Maine General Hospice for the outstanding support and care that she was given over the past few months. Through Hospice Linda was able to pass peacefully and pain free. The family would also like to thank all of the staff at Glenridge Nursing Home with special attention to the Valley wing. Thank you for treating her like she was your own family. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on June 25 at 10 a.m. at the Augusta First Church of the Nazarene in Augusta. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, followed by a luncheon and time of fellowship back at the church. Linda enjoyed helping others whenever she could. She also believed that no one should ever go hungry. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Faith Works Community Outreach 30 Nazarene Drive Augusta, Maine 04330
