Biography:

Romeo E. Boisvert, 93, of Lewiston passed away peacefully in his sleep at Russell Park Manor in Lewiston on September 23rd, 2017. He was born in Lewiston on June 4th, 1924 to parents Gideon and Lucia (Fortier) Boisvert

Romeo served in the US Army during World War II. He was employed at the Pepperell Mill for several years after working as a self-employed craftsman. Later he was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital in the maintenance department before retiring after 21 years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Angelina. They enjoyed dancing every Saturday night, and going to Canada several times a year. They had 2 children, Doris Coulombe and her companion Andrew Dube, and Linda and her Husband Tim Tipton of Lewiston; 7 grandchildren Melissa Lalumiere and husband Scott, Scott Coulombe and companion Kandice Poirier, Ryan Coulombe and wife Alyssa, Derek Coulombe and wife Jessica, Amy Melvin and husband Tim, Chad Tipton and companion Jamie Hammond, and Sean Tipton and his wife Tanya.

He also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren, Jack and Julia Beauchesne, Isabella, Trey, Stanley, Mae, Benjamin, Madeline and William Coulombe, Taylor and Hayley Melvin, Brandon and Kallin Tipton; a sister, Theresa Marquis of Turner; 2 cousins Lucienne Hamel and Henrietta Charest; and many nieces and nephews.

Romeo was predeceased by 2 sisters, Irene Ouellette and Cecile Buck; and 2 brothers Rosaire and Roger.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and caretakers of Russell Park Manor, Androscoggin Home Health, and First Light for the compassionate and heartfelt care.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 28th, 2017 at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St. Lewiston, Maine. A memorial visitation will be held at 10am, followed immediately by a memorial service at 11am. Romeo will be buried at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.
