Roger J. Bisson

Biography:

Roger J. Bisson of Topsham, passed away peacefully at his home on October 6, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Roger was born in Brunswick, Maine the son of the late Paul M. and Lorraine (Poulin) Bisson.  Roger attended St. John’s School and Brunswick High School.

Roger was predeceased by his wife, Carol Moore in April 2021, to whom he was married to for 54 years.  He is also predeceased by sisters, Louise Bernier and Lucille Pelkey, and brother Robert Bisson.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Lynn Bisson, son, Scott Bisson and Scott's husband Daniel, siblings, Raymond Bisson and wife Carol, Priscille Pollock and husband Doug, Arthur Bisson and wife Dianna, Marie Pennell and husband Jim, Denise Bisson and wife, Rosemarie, Doris Betz and husband Nick, André Bisson, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Roger also served his country in the Army National Guard for the State of Maine with military qualifications for sharpshooter.

Roger worked for the family farm cutting meat and delivering milk.  He also worked at men's clothier Benoit’s and as a meat cutter for Cottle’s and Shaw’s. He also worked for Comfort Keepers assisting the elderly. He returned working as a meat cutter for the family store L.P. Bisson’s in Topsham.

When not working, Roger could be found planting and caring for his gardens and lawn, basking in the sun and traveling with his wife throughout New England.

A Mass will be held at St. John’s Church on Pleasant St. in Brunswick Maine on November 5th at 11am. It will be followed by an on-premises luncheon. A graveside interment service at will be held at Bayview Cemetery in Bowdoinham at 3pm.  

Roger’s family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Daniel Inger and CHANS Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maine Special Olympics or charity of your choice.
