Biography:

Norman L. Bishop of Auburn passed peacefully on August 10, 2024 at Andwell Hospice House after a 20 year battle with various cancers.  “Norm” was born on December 25, 1950 to Norman Bishop and Barbara Lowell Bishop Lander.  Norm grew up in Danville and attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little H.S. in 1969.  Norm enlisted in the US Air Force shortly after he graduated high school and served his country for 4 years.  After leaving the service he lived and worked in New Jersey where he met his future wife, Debora.  They married and relocated to Auburn in 1979.  They had 2 children, Heather and Don.

Norm enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, golf, and bowling. He especially loved his Harley taking many rides in Maine and New Hampshire. Most recently he enjoyed restoring and using his antique tractor. He was a skilled cabinetmaker and made many beautiful furniture pieces that are still enjoyed by his family.

Norm is predeceased by his father and mother.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, his daughter, his son and wife Abigail, his brother, David, sister, Julie and his step-mother, Connie.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christina, Payton, Ingrid & Loic and 2 great-grandchildren, Jesse & Juniper.

A private graveside service is planned at the end of August.  Donations in Norm’s memory can be made to Andwell Hospice and the Dempsey Center.
