William Henry Belanger Jr.

Date of Death: March 24, 2025
Date of Birth: July 17, 1945
Biography:
William Henry Belanger Jr, known by all as Bill, died on March 24 at the age of 79 at his home in Mechanic Falls, Maine with his family by his side.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Doris Belanger of Auburn and his brother Norman Belanger and foster brother Aurthur Kenney.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years Bente Belanger, a son and daughter, Bob and Tina, two sisters Lorraine and Susie, and two brothers Roger and Mike. He had four grandchildren that he thought of as excellent but never told.
He served 21 years in the Air Force and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant. After his service retirement, Bill worked as an Adjuster of heavy equipment for his brother at Main-ly Appraisals until his retirement in 2007. During that time, he was proud to be a member of the National Truck and Heavy Equipment Claims Council.
Bill was an avid gardener and was happiest raising tomatoes and potatoes, riding his tractor and cutting trees for more lawn. He was always on the move and a day off was not something he understood. If he wasn't gardening, he was fixing everyone's cars, splitting wood or looking forward to hunting season when he could spend time with his brothers in the woods around the farm they were raised on.
His generosity was felt by everyone that knew him. He was always available to help, but most often refused offers in kind.
Bill did not want a funeral or a wake. He stated that he saw the people he wanted when he was alive, and if he hadn't, it was too late to come by when he was gone.
