Ronald Gerald Bedard

Date of Death: January 16, 2022

Date of Birth: March 25, 1943

Biography:

SABATTUS - It is with much sadness that we announce Ronald Gerald Bedard has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on January 16th, 2022 due to an unexpected heart attack.

Ron was born in Lewiston on March 25th 1943 to Alcide and Blanche Bedard and was one of seven children. He attended Lewiston schools and enlisted in the Army in 1962. After proudly serving for 6 years, he came back home where he met Doris Lucille Berube and they married on May 13th, 1967. During their 27 years of marriage, they had 2 children, Norman and Michelle. Ron owned and operated Bedard's Construction building many beautiful homes in the surrounding area until he retired in 2005. While raising his family he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing but mostly spending time with family and playing cards.

In May of 1999 he married Gloria Doustou where they've lived on Sabattus lake for the last 23 years. In Ron's later years he enjoyed gardening, bird watching and joining his good friend Ray and other buddies at McDonalds for morning coffee and gossip.  But still most of all Ron enjoyed his family and sitting on his front porch watching the boats go by on the lake with the sun shining on his face.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, son Norman of Sabattus, daughter Michelle Arthur and husband Jeff of Lewiston, step-daughter Penny Lessard of Lewiston, grandson Benjamin Belanger and step-grandson Shane Arthur, three step-granddaughters Jessica Lessard, Melissa Lessard, Jennifer Pike, and also has 6 step great grandchildren along with several loving nieces and nephews. Ron also has one surviving sister Henrietta who lives out west and a brother-in-law Charles Heckbert.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Doris who passed in 1994, his sisters Jeanine Bedard, Loretta Dionne, and Muriel Boutin, brother Lionel Bedard, sister-in-law Elizabeth Givens and stepson Randy Doustou.

Services will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary church in Sabattus this spring. The date will be shared with everyone once the family has decided.
