Biography:

Chelsea-  Lorraine E. Beaudry, 85, of Chelsea, Maine passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024, at home with family and friends by her side after a long illness.

Lorraine was born on July 2, 1938, in Augusta, Maine, the youngest daughter of Marianne and Esdras Gregoire.  Lorraine went to St. Augustine school and graduated from Cony High School.  After high school she went to work for the State of Maine Department of Aeronautics followed by the Department of Transportation as an accountant, retiring after 40 yrs. of service.

Lorraine married the love of her life, Valmond Beaudry, on October 7, 1961and celebrated their 62 years of marriage in 2023. 

Lorraine and Val enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren attending school functions and time spent with family during the holidays.

Lorraine and Val also enjoyed working in their garden sharing their harvest with family and friends.  They also enjoyed boating down the Kennebec River to Boothbay Harbor and spending many Friday nights dancing at the Calumet Club. 

Lorraine also worked at a radio station playing French music.  She loved music and had a collection of over 4,000 French CD’s.

Lorraine and Val spent many years singing in the church choir and serving mass at the local Catholic churches.  They also served at the local hospital for 15 years.  They also were caregivers to many family members.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, sisters Rita (Louis) Gregoire, Florence (Aime) Maheux, Juliet Daily, Connie (Rene) Rodrigue, Theresa (Robert) Dostie, Priscilla (Joe) Violette, brothers Larry (Peggy) Gregoire, Donald (Joan) Gregoire, Moril (Marsha) Gregoire, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.  She is survived by her husband Valmond Beaudry of Chelsea, a son Nelson (Tammy) Beaudry of Windsor, 2 grandchildren James (April) Beaudry and Beth (Justin) Lambert, as well as 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Northern Light Health Care and Hospice, especially Sherry, Erica, Michelle and Ron as well as family and friends who helped Lorraine through this final journey of her life.

A mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m , at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Ave., Augusta, ME.  A burial will take place at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta, ME at 1:00 p.m.
