Biography:

PORTLAND - Barbara A. Baston, 79, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Portland Maine. Her bright smile and generous nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Barbara was born in New York, the daughter of Whitney and Ruth Baston. After growing up on Long Island she worked as an office manager for several non-profit organizations in New York City including the Bowery Mission. She retired to Portland in 1995 and enjoyed helping friends, going to the Portland Symphony, and her work volunteering for Catholic Charities.

For the past several years she has been cared for by the staff of St. Joseph's Residence in Portland. Her family would like to thank them for their kindness and compassion.

She is survived by her sister Nancy Hannett and her husband Sanford of Medford, Mass, and a niece and nephew.

Services will be private.
