Jennifer P. Balan

Biography:

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Jennifer P. Balan, 44, from a long standing illness. Jennifer was born in Endicott, New York, on November 9, 1971. She graduated in 1990 from Maine Endwell Senior High , Endwell, New York . Her most recent employment was with the State of Maine as an Office Assistant for the Office of Family Independence. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Edward and Karen Balan, both of Farmingdale, Maine, her sister, Lori Scheck and her brother- in- law Raffael Scheck of Waterville. She has three nieces and two nephews, Michael Truland, Emily Truland, Anselm Scheck, Adelia Scheck, and Sophia Scheck, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends. Jennifer was an avid photographer. Other interests include social networking, kayaking, and writing. Jennifer had friends from many different walks of life. She was a shining light to so many. Her kindness, generosity, and ability to make everyone laugh will be missed. A memorial service will be held in Maine in May. Please contact Lori Scheck elscheck@colby.edu for more information.
