Biography:
Valmont “Val” Asselin, of Lewiston, passed away at his home on December 22nd 2024. He was born in Montreal, Canada on March 2nd 1932 to loving parents.
Val started his career as a hand sewer at the Lewiston Mills he then turned into a businessman purchasing Maine Microfilm. Val was a proud member of many organizations and was well liked in anything he did. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus earning the highest and most prestigious title of Sir Knight. Val was a United States Soldier and a member of the American Legion. Val enjoyed attending business meetings, going golfing, and even coaching Little League softball.
He is predeceased by his parents, two sisters, four brothers, and his daughter.
Val is survived by his wife Stella of 67 years, two sons Phil and Ron, three granddaughters, one grandson, two great granddaughters, and one great great granddaughter.
A mass will be held at a later date.
