Biography:

BRUNSWICK - David John Anderson, 76, died October 10, 2018 surrounded by his family at home after a long illness. David was born January 30, 1942 in Red Wing, Minnesota, son of Hilbert and Hilda (Carlson) Anderson. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Central High School in 1960. He went on to study at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. He served as sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968.

David and his wife of 51 years, Pauline (Dubreuil) Anderson, moved to Brunswick, Maine when he took a position at Wright Pierce in Topsham. He was later employed as a marine designer at Bath Iron Works where he was promoted to a supervisory position. After his retirement from BIW David was a home inspector, traveling large portions of southern Maine with his best four-legged friend, Fyrste. David enjoyed fishing, carpentry and gardening, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

David was predeceased by his father, Hilbert Anderson and his mother, Hilda Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; daughters Renee Chard and husband Samual of Topsham and Nichole Kelly and husband Frank of Brunswick; grandchildren, Quentin and Brewster Chard and Liam and Caitlin Kelly; sisters Judith Johannsen and husband Scott of Albuquerque NM, Miriam Ballert of Louisville, KY, and Lois Shub and husband Clarence of Rochester, MN.

David will be remembered for his sharp wit, his gentle heart and his undying devotion to his wife and family.

A memorial service will be held at the Anderson home, 28 Sea Smoke Lane in Brunswick, at 1:30 PM
