January 1, 2021 | Jon and Pat Bailey - Litchfield, ME -- USA

Dear Ed,
We were shocked to hear about Pat's passing from Dan Stevens. We were at camp and did not get the news. We are so sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed our times together with you both, and especially our visit with you at Pemaquid Harbor. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, as we send you best wishes for healing and happiness in the new year.
Love, Pat and Jon

November 3, 2020 | Mary Elizabeth Nordstrom - Kennebunk, Maine -- USA

Condolences, Ed,

As a fellow member of the Portland Chapter(ME) AGO, I have noted, with sorrow for you, the loss of your wife in what I would consider a prime year of her life in the seventies. Hopefully, you will soon be hearing in your mind the musical strains of
L
"Why Should I Then Grieve?"
Johann Gottfried Walther.

Peace and many blessings,
Mary Elizabeth

November 2, 2020 | Meg Cook - Winthrop, Maine -- USA

Dear Ed and family,
It was our privilege to work with Pat for so many years in the Winthrop schools. She was beloved by so many, and worked tirelessly to make things better for students and teachers. We enjoyed working with her in the WEA as well. Our daughter Sarah told me that when Pat first taught her to play the recorder she told her that she was good at it and that Mrs. English would be waiting for her in 5th grade. And, as you know, Sarah continued with clarinet and became a colleague of Pat's in KPAC. Pat had a wonderful and meaningful life and will never be forgotten by those of us who had the good fortune to know her. Please know that we am thinking of you all. Meg and Dave

October 28, 2020 | Anne Young - Hallowell, Maine -- USA

Dear Ed, Rebecca, and Christina,
I am so sorry for your loss. Pat and I taught at Winthrop Grade School for 20 years together. I remember how deeply involved she was with the welfare of her students and the school community. She was soft spoken, but never timid about offering her point of view when opportunities arose to improve the way education was offered at the grade school. She served in so many capacities along with teaching every student in the school in her music classes. I remember her willingness to participate in a French culture event that Bill Giasson and I offered to students in our after school French program. She taught the students several Franco-American folk songs and energetically led them in a can-can dance! It was so much fun!
I will always remember Pat as a good sport and dedicated educator as well as a talented musician. I considered her a friend.
My sincere sympathy to you and all of your family. May all your memories be happy ones. Anne

October 28, 2020 | Diana Bailey - COLUMBIA, MD -- US

I am one of Patty's many cousins who loved her while growing up and into her later years. I have fond memories in Michigan, Indiana, Fl and Maine of course.
I am saving our Grandmother's piano that she learned on, to hopefully go to her grandson Owen at some point in time....to carry on that tradition too.

Although there is never enough time with family, I am glad that she had a bit more time to spend with those she loved so deeply.

I miss your music, laughter and smile already!!
