I want to extend my sincere condolences to Richard and family at Carol's passing. I really appreciated reading the Obituary and everyone's comments as I did not know her well beyond the family being fellow "Long Pond" residents. Hearing of her life-long love of birds places her in a special category of wonderful people and I am sure the world was a better place with her in it.

Carol was such a tremendous person. Always so thoughtful and friendly. My time on the board at Merrymeeting Audubon with her was all the better for her being there. She always asked about my family and cared deeply about people and the birds. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her for sure. My son, Weston, and I are so sad to learn of Carol's passing. Weston is a young birder and Carol was always so supportive of him, which I greatly appreciated. I would often see her at the Topsham Public Library where I work and she would always ask about him.
Carol was a pleasure to speak with - so positive and kind, always with a smile on her face and spunk in her voice. We are blessed to have known her.
May Carol's love and your cherished memories bring you some comfort.

I will miss Carol's enthusiastic greeting, smile and company which I so enjoyed when we were lucky enough to meet somewhere along a birding trail or at a Merrymeeting Audubon program. She made the world a better place for many through her volunteering at church and Audubon. We have all lost a very special lady.

Carol and Richard have been our “down the road” neighbors for 20 years. We will miss running into Carol when she stops to admire a bird, binoculars always at the ready, or our maple tree in autumn. Carol seemed to always be making the most of every moment and had a kind and open spirit. We wish to extend our condolences to Richard and his family. We can only imagine how much she will be missed.
