As a former member of People Plus’ World Conversations Group, I had the enormous privilege of hearing Rosalind’s intelligent, informative contributions to the discussions. Her wide background and sharp mind awed us all. My condolences to you family members. Rosalind’s passing is a great loss to everyone who knew her.

Dear Alison and Peter,
Our parents, Betty and Arthur Smith lived up the hill from your grandparents in Charlottesville. We met you both in our young days and of course, I kept watch for Alison's theatre work. This week I was looking through the NYTimes and glanced at the obits. I saw your mother's face and knew that face- it is so much like your grandmother. We are sorry for you both, glad for her that you both were there, and hope you can take time to celebrate her and figure out how to make this transition. We send you our love,
Kiki and Lisa ksmith@smith.edu

I had the opportunity to work with Rosalind in the 1980s and the 1990s on the NGO Committee on UNICEF. Rosalind was a woman well ahead of her time. She was a sharp, substantive leader on global development and highly strategic in her dealings with the complex UN system. Ros was unwaveringly committed to excellence in all of her efforts. She had a rare air of dignity, was always on-point in her communications and firm in her conviction that anything worth doing, was worth doing well.
She was indeed a gracious hostess and I was very appreciative to be a guest at some of her many dinners on 67th Street. Her principled contributions to our work will prevail. Thank you, Rosalind. Meg Gardinier

An amazing woman who made folks who met her believe they were important at that moment. Did not see her often but have great memories of the times I did. Her contributions to all will live on long after. Rest in peace.
