Mr. Gayton was the best teacher ever. When we had to wait during the summer we hoped that we would see that we had him as our teacher. If we didn’t we still had him for math and that was good for us kids. He was a great man. Sorry to hear of his passing. Mr. Gayton was the best!

Gayton Family,
Ed was a wonderful man who gave much to his community. I enjoyed co-coaching Eddie and Logan together for DCS Saturday Basketball with Ed, he was a fantastic teacher and coach. We are saddened to hear of his passing. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

The teachers at the Grammar School were more than just friends. We were family and were always there for each other. You were the glue that held us all together. You cared so much for the kids you taught and took the time to listen to them. We were teaching partners in the fifth grade for so many years. You were always there when one of the teachers or students needed someone to listen to them. We shared so many trips to Boston with our kids, but we always found a few minutes to go the top of the science museum for a few minutes and share an ice cream. You were always there when one of us had a construction project we needed help with. Thank you for always being there for those people around you and all you gave to our students.

Mr. Gayton was one of my favorite teachers. After spending a summer complaining about having a man for a teacher, I quickly changed my mind. He made learning fun. Thanks for sharing him with all of his students. He was an amazing man and his passing is a loss for this community. I will be keeping your family in my prayers.

Rest in Peace, Mr.G. You were one awesome teacher, through we butted heads at first. Thank You for being what turned out to be the best teacher I ever had, though at the time I didn't realize it. I will never forget you, or all the kickball and football games during class because the boys were bored.. 🕯🌹

To my favorite teacher! You always held a special place in my heart! I always will remember the summer before your first year teaching, working construction next door. What a surprise when walking into 5th grade! You were the best. Godspeed!

We are so saddened to hear of Ed's sudden passing. What a wonderful mentor to all the children lucky enough to have him as a teacher and coach. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
