To Jim and family, our deepest heartfelt sympathy to all of you. I remember the 1st time meeting you in Presque Isle when we were at the Elks gathering when you were inducted as ER. What a wonderful time and a great weekend getting to know you both. And don't forget Raymond Pond, good times !! You are 2 of the most wonderful individuals I have ever met and I know that her generous ways and deepest feelings will be with you always. We wish you our best during this most difficult time and may you always remember Verna as the bright lite that shines from above for her family and their well-being always.
Love to you Jim and family

Dear Jim and family,
Thinking of you at the this time. I remember meeting Verna for the first time up in the County at a Chief's meeting. She was in the Auxilary of the Maine Chiefs and was very welcoming to us.
She will be missed by you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

January 27, 2020 | John M. Koelsch - Salem, VA -- United States

Jim, Very saddened by the news. If you need a friendly ear at any time - 608-397-0718. In recent times Nancy and I have been discussing our end. She is afraid I'll leave first, as am I. She loves life, even limited by disabilities as it is. We both are happy when we are simply at home. Her reading her books; me trying to write mine. The simple presence in each other's life is of the greatest importance. I know you'll miss that with Verna. Seems the autumn of our lives approaches winter. I guess if our other goes first all we can do is remember the good times. Peace, my friend. I'll be thinking of you. John

January 27, 2020 | George & Janis Brown - Belgrade Lakes, Maine -- USA

Verna was an extraordinary lady who all her life put others ahead of herself. She will be missed by many who were fortunate to meet and know Verna. Verna will leave a void in many lives.

January 27, 2020 | Sally Belanger - Brunswick, Maine -- United States

Jim,

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I was amazed when Verna's obituary appeared. I hadn't a clue. So you know, prayers for peace, comfort and understanding are being offered and will continue in the days to come. While I only met Verna once or twice, her obituary tells me that she was a wonderful person.

I know you as a strong person. But I also know you are human and will feel pain. As you move forward in the days to come, you will have good days and bad days, but through it all, cherish the memories and above all, may love be what you remember most.

Peace be with you,

Sally Belanger

January 27, 2020 | Sandi and Dave Anderson - Winslow, Maine -- Usa

Verna will be missed by many. She had a glow about her when she talked about her many flowers she grew and the dogs in her life. You could feel the proudness she had for her husband Jim and her family. We wish we had gotten to know her for more years than we did, but the years we did know her were great. Our condolences to Jim and the family and we will watch for the date in the spring.
