June 26, 2019 | Frank & Jeanne Labrecque - Williamsburg, VA -- USA

I remember Bob as a man of few words, a man that was proud to have served in the Army and the Maine Army National Guard, especially when he performed IG inspections. He loved to tell me all about them.

I was glad to spend some time with Bob and family when I was growing up, especially at the camp on the lake. You could always count on being the victim of one of his practical jokes.

While in Washington State visiting with my daughter and grandchildren, Jeanne and I had the opportunity to visit with Bob while he was visiting his daughter, Kelly and his son, Bob. It was fun sitting by the outside fireplace watching the grandkids and reminiscing.

When the girls had their cheering competitions nearby, Bob, Susan and the girls would stay with us. Jeanne and I thoroughly enjoyed those visits and the opportunity to spend time with his family. They always brought some fresh, Maine lobster salad!

As anyone who has ever served in the military will understand, once a soldier always a soldier. When together, we enjoyed a special bond as we both proudly served and retired from the US Army. As you can imagine, we had plenty of old war stories to share.

As a fellow brother in arms, I offer this quote from the great American soldier, General Patton. "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." I am sure that Bob would agree.

To Susan and to all of Bob’s family, please accept our heartfelt sympathy. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My condolences to his family. I knew Bob for many years while we served in the Guard together. Bob had a great wit and seneca of humor. Rest In Peace Bob.

June 20, 2019 | John J. Conley - Londonderry, NH -- USA

I had the opportunity to work with Bob in several different roles during our time in the MEARNG. Bob was always ready to share his experience and knowledge to help the rest of us learn and become better. We are all better people for having known Bob.

RIP BOB. Bob was a friend, a mentor, a leader and well respected throughout my military career. He loved his family more than ever, he also loved the military and service members, serving his community and dedicated to the American Legion Post. Bob was a true patriot! I served with Chief Donovan for many years, as well as on the Board of Directors for the Augusta Area Military Association. Work sided by side with him at the Windsor Fair for 23 years. You will be missed, thank you for all you have done. I have always looked up to you and will continue too, while you rest in heaven!
