I am sad to hear of Dean Carignan's death. He was so influential in my Bates years (class of 75)--believing in what a first-generation student from a small town in Maine could achieve. I've had a long career in international student services and know that the traits and values I saw in Dean Carignan influcenced my choice of profession. My condolences to his family--but I hope you are comforted in knowing he made such a difference in this world!
