Biography:

Brunswick – Joan L. Labbe, 92 of River Rd. Brunswick passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Midcoast Hospital. Joan was born in Brunswick, Maine on Winter Street on June 2, 1931 a daughter of Ovila J. Dionne and Eva M. Dube.

On October 6, 1951 she married Orele J. Labbe at St. John's Catholic Church in Brunswick. They continued to make their home in Brunswick and raised their children and grandchildren there. She worked at Jay Brush and was a gatekeeper at Coffin's Pond along with her husband. Together they cared for the facilities at the pond.

Joan loved to go hunting and fishing, camping and playing softball with her granddaughters. Together they would eat all of the fish they they had caught before breakfast the next morning, making it so that they would have to go back out fishing for more trout and salmon.

Joan was predeceased by her sister Marjorie E. Dionne, mother Eva M. Dube Dionne and father Ovila J. Dionne.

She is survived by her brother Skip Dionne and his wife Elaine Sabatinelli Dionne, three grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter Joyce A Labbe or Brunswick, a son Rick M. Labbe of Brunswick and two granddaughters Leia R. Labbe of Lisbon and Cheryl L. Labbe of Lisbon.
