Date of Birth: April 27, 1952

Biography:

February 25, 2024 the angels received another angel. Larry Bates Grant, 71 of Sabattus, passed away peacefully at his beloved home with his loving wife Lanette Grant of almost 32 years by his side. Larry was born April 27, 1952 in Lawshall, England to the proud parents, Barbara Ann Yancy of England and Athill M Grant of Easton Maine. He loved cooking for the public and his family. He became head chef of several restaurants in Aroostook County. He had a dream of owning his own restaurant. So in 2001 with his loving wife and children by his side, they opened "Jordan's Place" in Madison. Larry wanted to name their restaurant after their oldest Grandson who lives in Australia. After a long year they had to close their restaurant. And returned to driving over the road. He drove over the road until his retirement in 2007. He liked telling everyone he had been in every state east of the Mississippi River. After retirement Larry couldn't sit still. So he along with his wife, they received a contract to deliver automotive parts for a national chain. Larry was very proud of his contract because he and his wife covered the 12 stores. Larry loved riding his motorcycle. He loved it more when his wife got her license. One of his favorite things to do on his bike was to ride from Waterville to Presque Isle to pick up his son Greg. He would take his belt off and secure Greg to the bike, cuz Greg would fall asleep. This was his favorite story to tell. Before Larry had to stop riding, he got a memory that he could cherish, and that was riding with his wife and children. Larry wanted a horse ranch. He ended up having two horses and his beloved German Shepherd. He enjoyed being outside in the sunshine with his horses and his beloved shepherd. Anyone that knew Larry knew he was an avid New York Giants fan. Besides watching his favorite team play, he loved and proudly watched his grandson play football. He would say "That's my Grandson, #55 out there!"
