Levite Lee Gervais

Date of Death: July 31, 2023

Date of Birth: October 12, 1934

Biography:

Levite "Lee" E. Gervais, 88, of Lewiston, Maine, embarked on his final adventure on July 31, 2023. Born on October 12, 1934, in Madawaska, Maine, Lee sprouted into this world as the son of Edouard J. Gervais and Ida (Pelletier) Gervais. Growing up on the family farm in Aroostook County, he blossomed alongside his ten siblings, cultivating memories like crops. As a sprightly teenager, he plowed his way to Lewiston, where he put down roots.

Lee leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Diane Gervais, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they nurtured a vibrant family tree, with branches extending to their son Danny Gervais and his wife Sandy, as well as their daughter Lisa Crawford and her husband Paul. The fruits of Lee's love and care can be seen in his cherished grandchildren: Kayleigh Ann Morris, Alicia Napolitano, Bryan Gervais, and Bridgette Gervais. And oh, how the family tree continued to grow with great-grandchildren Jada and Carter Morris, Julien, and Kassidy Lewis. Lee's kinship extended to his brother Eloi Gervais and his wife Lucy, and his sister Clemence Nadeau and her husband Lucien. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Norman, Philip, Richard, Conrad, Gene, Angelo, Emerick Gervais, along with his sister Jackie Roy.

Lee marched proudly in the Army from 1952 to 1956, serving his country with honor and valor. A true builder at heart, he hammered away at a career as a carpenter and millwright, nailing every project with precision. But Lee's toolbox wasn't limited to work alone. He knew how to have a good time! An outdoor enthusiast, he reeled in joy while fishing, pitched tents of laughter while camping, raced through snowy trails on his snowmobile, and hunted for adventure. Zooming down the roads on his motorcycle, he felt the wind whispering tales of freedom in his ear. For over 30 years, Lee's camp in Peru, Maine, became a haven where family and friends gathered to create memories and share stories. Eventually, he and Diane spread their wings as snowbirds, migrating to Florida for most of the year, but always returning to Maine for the summers. Lee's green thumb flourished as he sculpted the perfect lawn, while his grandchildren joyfully hopped on board the golf cart for thrilling rides. And let's not forget those Sunday mornings reserved for heartwarming visits with his son Danny.

In honoring Lee's spirit of adventure, a private service will be held for immediate family on August 15th. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us remember him as the captain of his own ship, navigating through life's waves with a twinkle in his eye and a skip in his step. Lee's legacy will forever bloom in our hearts, reminding us to embrace every moment and live life to the fullest. Ahoy, Lee, may your next journey be filled with endless laughter and eternal sunshine.
