Ronald R. Gauthier

Date of Death: November 7, 2023

Date of Birth: April 27, 1941

Biography:

Ronald R. Gauthier, age 82, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Stacyville, Maine on November 7, 2023. His beloved and longtime companion and service dog, Mia, passed away shortly following Ron’s passing.

Ron was born on April 27, 1941 in Lewiston, Maine. He was adopted at birth by his grandmother Marie Roy McPherson. He lived much of his life in the Lewiston area. Ron was a foreman at the Knappe Shoe Factory in the Continental Mill during the early 1970’s. Ron was an entrepreneur who began a business titled RRG Enterprises prior to then owning and operating RRG Carpets in Lewiston, ME in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He then owned and operated Daddy’s Diner in Sabattus, Maine from the mid 1980’s through the early years of the turn of the century. Ron retired in 2003 and lived his remaining years in the town of Stacyville, Maine where he became a member of the local volunteer fire department.

Ron looked forward to and enjoyed time with his family, whether traveling to their homes during holidays or entertaining them in his home in Stacyville. He loved to play cribbage with anyone game enough to challenge him. Though he was an avid gun collector all of his firearms were lost in a fire at his home in Stacyville years ago. Ron took delight in the solitude and the wildlife roaming the woods around his home. In fact, he would frequently have deer and moose come to the windows of his front and back yards of his home and often see wildlife throughout the close-knit community of Stacyville. In Ron’s retirement years he took up motorcycling and was known as the ‘Lone Wolf’ to those that rode with him and knew him.

Ron was truly loved and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Ron is survived by his four daughters, Tina (Ronald) Swan, Tammy (Brian) O’Donnell, Tessy Pittman, and Tanya (Ellery) Barrett, his grandchildren Danielle (Corey) Swan-Dill, Derek (Kayla) Swan, Matthew Norris, Tiffany Norris, Samantha (Matt) Murella, Ronald Pittman, Michael Ayer and Jonathan (MeKayla) Barrett, and great grandchildren, Gavin Dill, Gavin Norris, Adeline Norris, Isabella Coffin, Ruby Murella, Serena Williams, and Lilly Ayer

At his request there will be no funeral services. There will be a celebration of life with his family and friends at his home in Stacyville Maine in June 2024.
