Biography:

LISBON — Irene E. Gamrat, 94, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 19, with family by her side.

She was born in Lisbon Falls on Sept. 22, 1920, to Michael Kushnir Sr. and Anna Byris. She attended Lisbon Falls schools and later married George Gamrat on Aug. 1, 1942.

In addition to raising one son, she worked at Jay Brush and Healthtex. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Lisbon Falls and enjoyed the Red Sox and visits from her “granddog.”

Survivors include her son, Gary and his wife, Linda; and her granddaughter, Andrea Gamrat and her partner, Valerie Cole. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, George; her parents; her brothers, Michael and John Kushnir; and her sisters, Annie, Mary and Elizabeth.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, at Holy Trinity Church, with the Rev. Chouinard officiating. There will be no visitation. Spring interment will be at St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery.
