Robert G. Cressey

Biography:

Robert George Cressey, 89, of Brunswick Maine died on December 10, 2021 in Brunswick.  He was born in Gardiner, Maine on April 15, 1932 to Everett R. and Gertrude Harris Cressey.  He was a  graduate of Gardiner High School and the University of Maine in Orono, and earned a Masters Degree from the University of New Hampshire.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Best Cressey, and sons David and Robert Brian, and a grandson, Austin Cressey.  He was predeceased by brothers Richard and Everett, sisters Lucy Morang and Marion Duplessis, and granddaughter Kabrina Cressey.

Mr. Cressey was an educator–math teacher, coach, and administrator–for 47 years, the last 26 at the Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Massachusetts.  He was an enthusiastic and loyal sports fan, as well as a participant.  He was a noted High School athlete and, later in life, completed several marathons and hiked the Appalachian Trail in its entirety.
