I have not seen Larry for over 30 years, although our son Mark Van Savage has. But Larry was someone I thought about a lot because he (and Mary Thayer Currier) saved Mark’s life, and so Larry was important to us---extremely important. I thanked him profusely back then and I thank him profusely now. I know he can hear me. In a short period of time all those years ago, Larry d. G. made a powerful impression on us and we could not ever possibly repay him---although he was not looking for repayment. But still, we owe him.
We’ll all see you again, Larry, and I’ll once again be able to thank you in person.

He was warm, caring and a good listener who always had an opinion to share.We had some fun and lively conversations at times. I am so sad to learn of Larry's passing. I have known him for many, many years. I used to cook for him at the 12 Hour Club, and spent many hours learning from his wisdom. He gave me a lot of strength when my husband passed away 9 years ago. His knowldge, wisdom, kindness, and laughter will always be in my heart. God Bless you all.
