July 27, 2023 | Brian J McTeague - Olympia, WA -- United States

Carolyn's son Brian McTeague here.

Thanks for each of you for your kind and thoughtful words about Carolyn and her presence in your life.
She was a 'pretty darn neat' and Special Lady that's for sure.
Knowing how much on an impact she had in the lives of so many folks and how many good friends she had is so wonderful and truly a comfort.
A boy couldn't have wished for a more loving and caring mother than Carolyn. She had many sayings that she happily shared and diligently lived by.
She was prepared for the journey, showed up to make it happen, made sure that others had a good time, and left no trace other than the good memories and great friendships.
I hope that you often remember a good time you shared with Carolyn. Probably out there on the trail, on the water, at the card table, on a trip to somewhere new or to a place you've been to dozens of times.
When you do, smile, and let your heart warm in gratitude for your friends and family and for this life that we're blessed to share together.
May the Light of Life shine upon you & yours.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Weds August 2nd from 11-2PM at the Topsham Grange Hall (47 Pleasant St, Topsham, ME 04086)

Feel free to contact me if you'd like.

July 7, 2023 | Pat - Buckley, Portland -- Maine

Knowing Carolyn was a gift to my life.
As a hiking buddy she was always sure of the trail, well, except maybe the time we got separated while hiking on the Appalachian Trail and only by great luck did we find one other again. She could also be hilarious on these occasions, in her dry way. We also enjoyed a ritual of meeting in Portland at our favorite Thai restaurant and then would cross the street to visit the Portland Museum of Art.

I only knew Carolyn for a short period of time, about 4 months, but she became a dear friend. I’ll miss her very much.

July 3, 2023 | Kevin Concannon - Cape Elizabeth, Maine -- US

Carolyn was an outstanding very professional child welfare social worker , very dedicated , reliable and supportive. She
gave decades of generous public service to the people of Maine . Maine was most fortunate to have her in our midst.
RIP.

It was very sad to learn of Carolyn's death. Enjoyed many river trips with her through the PPCS paddling club. Condolences to her family.

Carolyn was a fine person and I was sad to read of her passing. Her droll and incisive wit kept me entertained any time we got together. When I lived in Brunswick, I "house sat" for her on several occasions when she traveled to Europe and Asia. Later, when I moved away, we lost touch. I had forgotten she grew up nearby where I now live in Ohio, until I read this obituary. R.I.P. Carolyn, you lived an exemplary life.

June 30, 2023 | Mary Kornegay - Brunswick , Maine -- USA

Remembering many fine games of tennis while playing with you, Carolyn. Your kayaking trips were a joy for you knew the weather and the conditions for kayaking. You will always be missed. Rest in peace.
