I was sorry to hear of Tom's passing last Friday. We worked together at BIW and I enjoyed his friendship while there. He and I also shared memories of Tufts University, Somerville and aviation in common. In 1983 Tom saved me from being laid off. He was able to offer me a job in another area of Purchasing where I remained for 33 more years. Much later Tom met my father also named Tom while golfing at Heritage Village in Southbury CT. They got along well as they had a lot in common. I will be making a small donation to Tom's favorite charity the St Judes Children's Hospital.

Mr Parnell always had a smile and a hand extended whenever and wherever I saw him. I had the pleasure of getting to know him while working at a call center after first moving back to Maine and was always a welcoming presence. He will be missed by many that didn't see him on a regular basis. RIP Mr. Parnell.
