I wish I had seen this 5 years ago :( I have often wondered how Bill was doing. I had him for a school bus driver for years. He was the best. None have ever compared to him. He was my favorite. He remains my most favorite part of my childhood school days ❤️ He was a very special person. I used to love taking Opus home or into school for show and tell ❤️ I got some best rider tee shirts from him too back when they did that contest. I used to sit behind him with my friends l, cousins or sister and read jokes to him from a fun kids joke book. We used to sing on the way to school “hi ho hi ho, it’s off to school we go! We’re riding on bus #9 hi ho hi ho hi ho!” :) seems silly looking at it written but it was so special and fun back then. Bill was always so appreciative of our jokes and songs and photos we colored him. He was the kind of person that made everyone kid he drove feel special. I have missed him sorely since he retired all of those years ago. I am happy to finally find out how he is doing, in heaven watching over all of us ❤️

It was an honor to help take care of Bill while I worked at St. Mary's. He always had a good story to tell and loved to talk about his wife. It was my pleasure to work for Bill.

I am a teacher in the Helen Thompson School in West Gardiner (MSAD#11). Bill was a bus driver for our school. I remember how the students and staff loved Bill's positive ways of dealing with situations with humor. "Opus" was a hit in getting the students on his bus to follow the rules and remain safe. Bill's booming voice could be heard each day when he entered the building saying "hello" to everyone he saw .. big and small. Rest in peace my friend.

Those of us who had the pleasure of working with Bill during his years as one of our bus drivers in M.S.A.D.#11 were saddened to read of his passing.

He was a treasure to have on field trips, as he always shared his enthusiasm for natural history, and had a genuine love and respect for our students.

Few people would purchase an auditory learning program for a student to listen to while riding his bus, but Bill and his wife generously did so for one of our students.

It was an honor to know such a warm and gracious man.

My sympathy to the family from Jeff Levesque I have only known bill for a little while when he used to live near me his favorite saying was that saint Louis blues were going to win all the games and I all ways told them the only way that saint Louis blues was going to win is if the other team would stay home other wise they may have a challenge against each other again my condolences

My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you, Bill was a very kind and gentle man. I had the pleasure of being one of his nurse while he was at DYP, my special name for him was Blue Eyes. Of how I teased him, I was a Boston sport fan and he made it clear to me he wasn't. His request for a cup of hot coffee so early in the morning will always stay with me. Hope all the wonderful memories you have of Bill helps you through these difficult times.

For the loss of 'Papa Bill' William Pabst
"Say not in grief "He's gone", but live in thankfulness that he was."
To all the Pabst Family/Friends & Relatives,
Those we love don't go away, like Papa Bill,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
They'll live on in the heart.
Words, however kind,
can't mend your heartache: ,
but those who care and ,
share your loss with you,
comfort and peace of mind.,
May you find strength,
in the love of family,
and in the warm embrace,
of friends.
At this time of sorrow,
may these truths sustain you...
Your loved one will always
be as close as a memory,
and the God of all comfort
will always be as close as a prayer.
W/Deepest sympathy,
Elma & the boys

Thank you for sharing Bill's life stories. I love the story of Opus. I would have brought in one for him as a joke. He was certainly a jokester. Always had that twinkle in his eye right to the end. Will miss all of you.

We hold many cherished memories of Bill which will be a keepsake of our friendship with him. To his loving family we extend our sympathy and love. Although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you in the days ahead.... Rest in peace, Bill, and may your memory be eternal.
