I first met Laurette as a young elementary student, riding the bus to Gilbert School in Augusta. She was a lady of short stature, but you learned quickly that she was mighty fast on her feet and you better mind your manners or she would send you packing off that bus in a jiffy! She loved every single kiddo on her bus and set high expectations that all were to be respected. With a twinkle in her eye, she'd tell stories of her grandchildren, all grown up now. More than once, we sat at the top of Summer Haven Hill, waiting for the sand truck to work it's magic. "I'm not driving down that hill and risking your lives, she'd say." Laurette was one of a kind, only to be matched by her most amazing Husband Bill. May they rest in peace together, now and forever. They may be gone, but will never be forgotten.

I am sorry to hear of her passing. I met them many years ago through my former wife, Paulina Taylor Paradis. Laurette & her went to school together when they were young. My condolisents(?) to her family.
