We send our heartfelt condolences. We were quite saddened to hear about the passing of Larry. Personally, I saw a reflection of all his fine qualities in his son Nathan, who was an elder in my congregation and was among those who helped me to dedicate my life to Jehovah. Obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. If there is anything we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to fully getting to know every single one of you fully in the new world that is near. (Ps. 37:11)

Dear Barbara and family,

What a wonderful Memorial Service for Larry on Saturday! - Testimony to a life well lived!
We have fond memories of you and Larry, coming to visit my (Melinda's) parents through the years in Portland. Larry's soft and caring voice was always a comfort to them, during their illnesses. Only Jehovah could create such a loving and genuine brotherhood! Your whole family have been a joy to know!

You're all in our thoughts and prayers, as we endure these last few last days! Soon, our expectations will be met; and our loved ones will answer Jesus' call to life! Just as Martha said, "I know he will rise on the last day.." Until then, Jehovah be with you!

Now it's up to us to carry on, and hold high the light of Truth for all to see - to Jehovah's praise and glory!

Love and prayers forever!
David and Melinda

Dear Barbara,
I can’t thank you enough for you and Larry’s wonderful examples and kindness towards me. You are both very dear to me and became my spiritual parents. Meeting you in the DR was one of the best things to have ever happened to me and you taught me much about how to put JH first. I miss Larry a lot, and I’ve been praying for you and your family constantly. I know that he is safe in JH’s memory and I know that someday we will be ready to welcome him back in the new world. Love you very much.
Sincerely,
Breana

Dear Barbara and Family,

We want you to know that our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you during this most difficult time. Larry was an excellent husband and father, but also a good friend to so many. It seems like just yesterday that you welcomed us into your home and made us feel like family. Larry’s friendly, outgoing, cheerful, gregarious, and good-natured personality is one to be imitated and will be dearly missed.

May Jehovah ‘heal your broken hearts and bind up your wounds’ until that day when you can see Larry again in a perfect state! (Ps 147:3)

Love ~ Keith and Kori

My deepest condolences to you all. Larry was a jovial, kind and caring person. I can’t imagine the loss you are all experiencing. How wonderful that our loving Heavenly Father gives us the promise of the resurrection and this absence will be temporary and soon we will be reunited with our dear loved ones. Thank you for sharing the pictures that were I included in the slideshow. It really captured who he was and was a beautiful way to remember him. I had no idea Nathan so strongly resembled a young Larry! 😊 Big hugs to all in the family.

November 14, 2021 | Ray & Leah Morrow - Scarborough, ME -- USA

Two of us were in attendance at our location. We noted a peak of 347 Zoom participants, many with multiple people! The count must have been tremendously high for Larry. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful family memories. Remember the words recorded at Job 14:14, 15:

"If a man dies, can he live again?
I will wait all the days of my compulsory service
Until my relief comes.
15 You will call, and I will answer you.
You will long for the work of your hands."

New memories are soon to be made with Larry!

November 13, 2021 | Bright and Michelle Laladewa - Brunswick, Maine -- United States

Today was a hard day but also a beautiful day because Larry’s faithfulness reminds us of Jehovah’s promises.
This is something that so many admire in him.

My memory of Larry are many but the one that stands out the most in my mind is his willingness and love to help others. We had goal/dream to be able to provide the deaf community in Maine a place and opportunity to learn about Jehovah. They told us we needed a brother…and even though Larry did not know Sign Language he volunteered. 😯😯😍😍 An example of his willingness and love to just want to help people. He saw a need and even though he had no knowledge of the language he volunteered.

What impresses me more was his determination to keep learning even though the language was not easy for him. Why? Because of his love for people!! We always said Jehovah started this ASL group in Maine not with experience ones, but with brothers and sisters who were willing. Jehovah used Larry to accomplish his work for the deaf in Maine and this is not the only thing Jehovah used Larry for, but this is one example that stands out in my mind.

When ever I needed someone to pour my heart out to, he was their. Listening to me and then giving me loving guidance. I appreciate these times over and over again, especially in the direction of Bright and my relationship. Wisdom we truly needed!! Now Bright and I see the relationship that Larry and you had and we strive to have the same. 💕

We know the tears we shed today, Jehovah was also shedding because one of his friends has fallen asleep in death. But he is not forgotten!! He has won the race and soon will be awakened, waiting to see all of us…excited to hear how it all ended. We can’t wait for this!! We will eagerly be waiting with you, when Jehovah wakes Larry up.

We send our love and prayers
The Laladewa’s

November 13, 2021 | Barry & Lynnette Miete - Newcastle, Maine -- USA

What a wonderful memorial for our dear brother. You could see through the pictures his love of Jehovah, and the loving relationship he had with his family. What a good example he was to his family (both his physical and spiritual); in his worship and reliance on Jehovah. Larry will be missed for “just a little while longer”, but just as Jehovah promised, if we remain faithful, we will all be able to enjoy life forever with him and all the ones we have lost in death. May Jehovah continue to comfort you all through these hard times. Our love to you all.

November 13, 2021 | Bill and Barbara Harris - Sudlersville, Maryland -- United States

We will certainly miss Larry. Some good memories though. There won't be any body to hug me when I go to Maine. Phew! 🤗 He is in a dreamless sleep and he will wake up a second later. I know what that's all about. He'll wake up in Paradise. I, on the other hand, woke up to the same old system of things. May you continue to find comfort from the Scriptures to keep your hope strong. Until you won't need to hope anymore because what you have been hoping for becomes a reality. 😁 🐣 🙆 Peace, love, and happiness!!!

November 13, 2021 | Charlie and Cathy McCarthy - Waipahu, Hawaii -- USA

Aloha Lefort family,
We would like to convey the love and aloha from the Ma'ili Congregation. Although we didn't personally know Brother Lefort, we have had the privilege of knowing his son Nathan and Chloe. Larry has certainly lived a life of faith in Jehovah and his promises. How wonderful that he and Barbara have been able to instill this same love for Jehovah in their children and grandchildren.
Although nothing can remove the sting of death - the hope from our God Jehovah gives us joy, knowing that one day ALL our loved ones that have died will once again return and we can embrace them again!
We pray that Jehovah will comfort you at this difficult time and fill your hearts with the wonderful future our loving God has promised us.
Charlie and Cathy McCarthy

Sister LeFort, We just to tell you that we love you and our heartfelt prayers are with you and your family!

November 13, 2021 | Gene and Janette Warner - La Vega, La Vega Province -- Dominican Republic

What a God-send Larry and Barbara were when we really needed them. We serve in the ASL congregation here in La Vega. Janette and I had both fallen sick with a bad flu and couldn't attend meetings at the KH.
Weekly, I had meeting assignments and service groups to care for, serving as the only elder at the time. How blessed the congregation was to have this self-sacrificing and loving couple "go to bat" for us. Jehovah certainly provided them at the exact needed moment, surely a surprise to them.

While only here for a month or so, the congregation developed a close bond with them and appreciated their hard work. We'll always remember their willingness to serve and the love Larry and Barbara had for the brothers. I also personally benefitted from excellent suggestions Larry gave me. I'll never forget, even though at the end of their time here, we barely got to spend any time together.

We pray Jehovah's rich blessings on Barbara and the rest of the family as they deal with this loss.

We certainly look forward to seeing Larry in the resurrection.

November 13, 2021 | Kelly (Jewett) Russell - Clinton, Maine -- United States

November 13, 2021 | Sean & Naomi Dalida - Gonzales, California -- United States

Sean and I were so touched by the beautiful video and encouraging talk today. Our hearts ache along with you and we will keep you in our prayers the days and weeks ahead.
As a little girl, I was always impressed by Larry's kind and mild spirit. He was already ready with a warm smile and encouraged word. While Barbara was the vivacious full of life part of the team, Larry was always there as her quiet but strong partner. I loved how Larry looked at Barb...there was always a little glimmer in his eye and you could just sense how much her loved her.
Larry was so proud of his boys...all his hard work paid off and there is no doubt each have inherited some of his beautiful spiritual qualities.
We love you all....just take it one day at a time. Soon we will be having reunions to welcome back all of our loved ones who are sleeping. May our hope for the future keep burning bright in your hearts. It is just around the corner....🌄🌺
Love you,
Sean and Naomi Dalida (Tebbets 😉)

We are so sorry for the loss of what sounds like a wonderful spiritual man. We never met him but know Chip and his family. We await the day with you when Jehovah resurrects him!

November 12, 2021 | Javier & Milagros Hernandez - Warwick, New York -- USA

We want you to know that we are truly, truly sorry for your loss. Losing a dear husband, father, sibling and grandfather hurts very deeply and only Jehovah can truly soothe your hearts as time goes by.
No doubt in times like these Jehovah’s words are the most comforting since we know how faithful he is to his promises. One of the many promises we treasure is found in Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life.

The reference to that scripture in the April 22, 2004 Awake its truly encouraging. In part it says: “The dead are in the safest situation imaginable, like an infant protected within its mother’s womb. Indeed, those resting in the grave are perfectly preserved within the limitless memory of Almighty God. (Luke 20:37, 38) And soon they will be brought back to life, entering a happy, welcoming world much the way a newborn is greeted by a loving, waiting family!

How comforting to imagine that Brother LeFort is in Jehovah’s perfect memory and that he has already made plans for his return. This scripture truly captures the secure state He is in and the exciting way in which she will return. It’s so beautiful to imagine all the preparations that we will be involved with when we know we are to receive our loved us back, what a day that would be! It truly fills our heart with joy to have such a sure and precious hope like we are privileged to have. Its normal that in the meantime you miss him and we know Jehovah will continue to “surround and comfort” you during this difficult time. Psalms 71:21.

May Jehovah continue to “increase your greatness” specially during the times you feel you lack the strength.

Thinking about you with much love,
Milagros & Javier Hernandez
(Friends of Nathan & Chloe @ Warwick)

November 10, 2021 | Jim & Mary Card - Topsham , Maine -- USA

Dear Family,

James 4:14 says we “are a mist”. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring but we do know that Larry’s future will be bright. Not very long ago Larry said in a strong voice “I want all of you to be there. When I wake up I will look for all of you” as he drew a semi-circle with his pointing finger towards the few of us in the room. Actually, he wanted ALL our futures to be bright.

We are so sorry for your loss because the loss of a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle and a loyal friend is a great loss indeed but the loss won’t be long. Soon our heavenly father will call Larry back to a life with no more pain. (Revelation 21:4) For us to be in his bright future we need to copy Larry’s faith. May we all continue to build that faith.

Again, you have our love and deepest sympathy.
Jim & Mary

November 9, 2021 | Michael Haskell. Marnie - HOWLAND, ME -- United States

So sorry for your loss we fondly rember his kind gentle way. As well as the neat experiences with Joan v and wadie

November 8, 2021 | Peggy Clementz - Scarborough , Me -- USA

I have seen for many years the tireless efforts that Barbara and Larry spent raising their boys.It was very evident that their priority was spent on spiritual matters as well as creating a warm family unit. When my husband Larry and I served at Wallkill Bethel the Leforts would come for frequent visits. As parents they worked tirelessly helping their boys to set spiritual goals.
Soon Jehovah will unite us to live eternally on a Paradise earth.Never again will we have tears of sadness or the anguish of seeing our mates age and die. So may we thank Barbara for all of her loving care in helping Larry through this trying time. May she be the first one to welcome him back! That will be a wonderful time and what a wonderful Triumph for Jehovah!

November 7, 2021 | Roberto & Sara Vega - Tuxedo Park, NY -- USA

Dear LeFort Family:

We are so sorry for your loss. We fondly remember Brother LeFort’s kind disposition and warm smile. He will be missed. May Jehovah, the God of

November 6, 2021 | Sue Connors - Franklin Springs , Georgia -- USA

I have known Larry and his family a long time and have had firsthand experience with his loving concern when my mother, Mama Joan, died. Larry and Barbara always had a warm greeting for me and my family. They shared a connection to birding with my Mom and others who enjoyed spying on Jehovah’s wonderful creation. I thank Jehovah for our wonderful hope and look forward to seeing all those who are sleeping in death.

November 6, 2021 | Stephen and Betsy Jackson - New Gloucester, ME -- USA

We are deeply saddened by the loss of your zealous and faithful husband, but we know Jehovah will remember him as an extremely loyal servant.( Psalm 18:25 ). Pleased be assured you and your family are in out thoughts and prayers. We have always loved your family and are so happy all of yours sons have remained faithful to Jehovah. May Jehovah, “the god of comfort” be with you during this difficult time as you await the coming joyous reunion with Larry(2 Corinthians 1:3&4). It is our prayer that Jehovah will not only comfort you now in your time of grief and help you to endure through the tremendous emotional pain of your loss, but that he will also give you the strength to continue setting the fine example of faith and zeal that has so encouraged all who have come to know and love you both.

November 5, 2021 | Debi & Mark Buscanera - Westport Island, Maine -- United States

Dear Barbara and Family,
Our hearts are broken for all of you. Such a fine man. Truly kind. About a year ago, Larry made a visit to our home for a shepherding call along with Rueben Pialani, it was so heartfelt and totally encouraging to me personally. Jehovah's servant at my home, I don't know if these brothers truly knew how effective they were.
We look forward to his arrival when the new world is established.
Lots of Love
Debi & Mark

November 4, 2021 | Bill and Barb Harris - Sudlersville, Maryland -- United States

Even though we knew Larry was sick, it was still sad to get the news of his passing. We have some good memories. He was always trying to give me a hug even though I didn't want it. He succeeded sometimes. And we tried to make a go of it in ASL. He helped me out when I had my heart attack. Very generous and greatly appreciated. We watched the boys grow up and we're good spiritual people. Before long we'll see Larry again. He will wake up with no more pains. See y'all on Zoom. Love.
Bill and Barb

November 3, 2021 | Jayme Ahearn - Somersworth , NH -- USA

Dear Barbara, Chip, Brian, Jason, Nathan and family,

So sorry to hear about Larry. This (and the version sent out with additional photos) is one of the nicest obituaries I’ve ever seen.

While I saw Larry here and there in recent years, I mostly remember him from back in the 70’s and 80’s when he was still young. Looking forward to meeting him like that again soon (Job 14:14,15; Job 33:25.)

November 3, 2021 | Denise Taylor - Topsham, Maine -- USA

Dear Le Fort family, we are very sad to hear from the loss of your husband, father and friend. Even if we have the hope of a resurrection, the pain is there.
We wish you the comfort coming from God’s word, and hope that you will find the inner peace described in Phil4:6,7.
We will pray for you and look forward to the time when Larry Wayne is back to life, healthy, sitting on a horse, enjoying life and serving his father in heaven.
May Jehovah be with you,

We want your family to know how grateful we feel to have met you Barbara and your wonderful husband Larry. Dear Barbara and family,

November 1, 2021 | Dave and Rachel Wake - Warwick, New York -- USA

We always felt loved and like family in Larry and Barbara’s company. Their love for people, for Bethel, for sign language, caring for the deaf - was always so encouraging to us. When he wakes up, he might not need ASL anymore. But maybe we can all learn the new language together. We look forward to many more beautiful memories together soon.

November 1, 2021 | Daniel Molchan - Tuxedo Park, New York -- USA

To the LeFort family,

We wish to express our personal condolences to all in your family. While death in this old world seems permanent to many, the Holy Scriptures speak of the day of the resurrection when those in the memory of our God, Jehovah, will again be brought to life in a perfect paradise earth. May that day come quickly. And may Jehovah now provide abundant comfort to you all. - Psalm 55:22. Dan Molchan
