Neal was dear to the heart of the Grass family near Bangor, and his care and prayers for the church in Maine and New England were transformational. He made a lasting difference to so many, particularly the youth who knew him through Gander Brook and were influenced by his spirit.

I knew of Neal through the Men's Retreats and was moved by his love for music. On one occasion he taught us some older songs from "the old blue books" that were all in minor keys. They were beautiful, and that was one of my favorite memories of being in Maine all those years.

God bless your, Durgin family! Indeed you have been blessed by Neal and his legacy, and yours, will continue to bless people in generations to come.

To all of the Durgin family, I send you my fondest condolences. Throughout my childhood I heard my father talk about "Neal Durgin" with great respect and admiration. While working for a summer at Camp Ganderbrook ('92), I learned why. Generous, patient, caring, kind, and just plain fun to be with, Neal was a wonderful Christian man, whom I grew to admire as well.
Please know all of your family will be in our prayers.
