My deepest sympathies to the family and friends. May find comfort in your many memories together and in God and his word the Bible. God wants us to pray to him during these times of grief and sadness so he can comfort us. (Psalms 50:15/2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

I would like to express my sadness on the passing of a wonderful and caring man to all. The obituary mad me so sad and reflected his life very well. I will remember him as a wonderful Superintendent of GW Lake and respected by all for his demeanor and personality to all teachers, students and parents involved that he came into contact with. Ray and his wife Joan were well loved in Warwick and wherever they went. It was always a pleasure to have broken bread with him and Joan and to listen to his advice and humor and also wisdom. I never thought he could convince Joan to move to Maine as a permanent thing but he did. Best to the family and what a wonderful and moving obituary to Ray!

Sincere sympathy to Mr. Cole’s family. He was the principal for my entire K-8 education at Greenwood Lake. He was respected but usually had a smile on his face and seemed to love his job. We all benefitted from his leadership. And, I’m guessing he hired Joan and Charles Humber, two of the best teachers ever. Well done. May he Rest In Peace.

I was a student at Greenwood Lake and remember Mr. Cole when he was the principal there, My mother also worked at the school while he was there. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.

Rus and I were saddened to hear of Ray's passing; he was a true gentleman, had some really good stories that we enjoyed at Belgrade Lakes camp. We send our love to you and your family, Joan.

When I moved to GWL, I wanted to return to teaching on a part time basis. Ray was the the administrator for the school and welcomed me. He supported me through out my subbing time there and his door was always open. He was the best elementary principal I ever worked for. Condolences to the family.

Joan, you may not remember me. We spent several days in St. Anthony’s, I with a fractured knee, you with a broken hip. That visit it snowed and snowed & snowed. DRay, in his usual cheer, went out in a snowstorm to Pioneer and brought us hot fudge sundaes. Never forgot his kindness.
