Biography:
SOUTH PARIS, ME- John Leroy Snow, 58, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving family, on August 20, 2016. He was born in Norway, Maine on October 15, 1957. He is the son of Patricia Doughty Snow of South Paris and the late William Perley Snow. John graduated from OHHS in 1975, where he is remembered for having great athletic abilities. After graduating he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning from his service, he worked as a skilled carpenter for over 30 years and built a strong and loving home for his family. He was a nature lover and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed visiting and maintaining the family camp he built for all of his family to enjoy and relax at. He frequently went with friends to Patch Mountain for bouts of snowmobiling and fun. He also liked to visit the Swift River in Byron, ME and pan for gold. He enjoyed ice fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, working around his home, and lending a helping hand. John will always be remembered for his great big heart, his love and compassion, and his sense of humor. Mr. Snow is survived by his wife of 26 years, Michele Snow; his three children, Alyssa Snow, Alex Snow and Allyson Snow; his grandson Ira "John" Towle; his mother Patricia Doughty Snow; his sister Billie Rae Koch and his brother Allen Snow. He is predeceased by his father William Perley Snow. A celebration of John's life will be held August 29th, 2016 starting at 6:00 pm at The First Congregational Church, 17 East Main Street, South Paris, ME 04281.
