Wendy B Sirois
Date of Death: September 24, 2025
Date of Birth: October 18, 1944
Biography:
Wendy B. Sirois (born Wendy Rose Blackman), beloved sister, wife, aunt and daughter, passed away in her sleep on September 24, 2025, just shy of her 81st birthday at Coastal Landing Retirement Community in Brunswick ME. She was born on October 18, 1944, the daughter of Maurice and Marsha Rickless Blackman of Haverhill, MA.
She graduated from Andover High School in 1962 and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a Master’s degree in Education. She was accomplished in her field working for banks and the Navy for many years as a Systems Analyst. She met and married her husband, William (Bill) Sirois on February 21, 1993 while working at Brunswick Naval Air Station. Bill was Wendy’s soulmate, teammate, best friend and co-conspirator for all the adventures of the rest of her life and truly a saint to her.
Wendy is survived by her husband William Sirois of Brunswick, her sister Kathy Herder of Loveland CO, her niece Jenelle Sandy and family (Rob, Lyla and James) of South Lake Tahoe CA and cousins in Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts and Georgia.
Wendy loved making crafts, reading and travelling whenever possible and was a member of her religious, residential and local community, trying to make a positive difference where she could. She was a rock to her family, always a calm presence and a fountain of wisdom. She loved her niece fiercely, who shares her birthday and gentle soul, and was always grateful to see or talk to her great niece and nephew. Wendy quietly handled her parents’ aging illnesses, along with her own, and was always there for her loving sister through her entire life. She had to overcome immense physical challenges in her life which included emotional challenges and she did this with the grace, dignity and compassion of a queen. She was instrumental as a young student in changing the perception and treatment of disabled students in the Massachusetts school system in the 1950’s, breaking ground for many children to come. She will be truly and forever missed by her family and all who knew her; Wendy was truly one of a kind.
Rest in peace Wendy, now your beautiful body, mind, soul, spirit, love and kind, generous heart will live on with your family and everyone you touched as we try to carry on the graciousness that was your life and remember you always.
