Carolyn (Strube) Phillips

Date of Death: May 31, 2025
Date of Birth: September 19, 1950
Biography:
Carolyn (Strube) Phillips, 74, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine.
Carolyn was born on September 19th, 1950, in Bath, Maine, the daughter of E. Paul and Alice Strube and attended Bath schools; graduating from Morse High School in 1968, where she played clarinet in the band.
A faithful, lifelong member of the Corliss Street Baptist Church, Carolyn married William P. Phillips there on July 16th, 1977.
She loved her Starbucks, black licorice, scallops, and being a Great Grammy, but she loved to be at her home in West Bath with her husband of 47 years even more.
Carolyn was humble, no frills, and never one-to-mince words. But she was kind, fiercely loyal and you could trust her with your deepest darkest secrets.
Over the years she enjoyed spending time on Moosehead Lake and taking road trips with her husband Bill and friends Richard and Cindy Barter, where her quick wit and humorous catchphrases most certainly kept things entertaining.
She loved to cook for her family. She leaves behind her coveted molasses cookie recipe, but they will never taste the same and her annual cookie deliveries will surely be missed.
Carolyn is survived by her loving children; Jennifer Orr and partner Dean of Bath, Michael Orr and partner Jaime of Bath, Bill Phillips of Lewes, Delaware and Darcy Phillips of Bath; her grandchildren: Tyler Rose, Mikayla Rose, Katrinalee Blake, Kristina Blake, Katelyn Moore, Kennedy Orr, Dylan Orr, Dylan Phillips and Joey Katula; Brother Carl Strube and wife Barbara of Andover, MA. and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many great friends.
She was predeceased by her parents E. Paul Strube, Alice Strube and brother Bill Strube.
Carolyn’s wishes for a private graveside service will be honored on a later date.
Carolyn’s family would like to thank the Gosnell Hospice House for their respectful, delicate care and in her memory please consider making a memorial donation to Hospice of Southern Maine at 390 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074 or online at www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org/donate
