William R. Perreault

Date of Death: October 11, 2025

Date of Birth: July 5, 1937

Biography:

Brunswick- William R. Perreault, 88, of Brunswick, ME.  passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 5, 1937, in Springfield, VT, to Romeo J. and Anna E. (Bouchard) Perreault.

Bill and his wife, Ercil L. White, were high school sweethearts and married on February 16, 1957. They shared 63 years of marriage until Ercil's passing in 2020.

An avid sports enthusiast, Bill was a standout athlete in high school, excelling in multiple sports. He was a two-time Maine state ping pong champion and set a school record in 1955 with a 92-yard touchdown run against Biddeford High School, a record that would stand for many years. Baseball was his favorite and best sport. In his four-year high school career, Bill pitched to a record of 22 wins and 6 losses. In his senior year, Bill pitched two no-hitters along with five one-hitters, while averaging 18 ½ strikeouts per game.

Bill continued his love of sports by playing baseball in the Portland Twilight League, in the United States Air Force, and also in the Brunswick Men’s Softball League. He coached the Elks in the Brunswick Babe Ruth League for twelve years.

In 1959, Bill and Ercil built their home on Durham Road, where they raised their family. They cherished their time spent at their bird-hunting and fishing camp in Jackman, Maine.  They particularly enjoyed hiking up to Perreault Ridge in the fall, where they would sit together and enjoy the scenery.  A walk to The Falls on the Moose River was where they spent many summer days fishing. Their fall time was filled with grouse hunting in the woods surrounding the camp.

Bill worked for the United States Air Force, the Brunswick Recreation Department, the United States Border Patrol, and Hyde Windlass in Brunswick, ME.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ercil, cherished grandson, Branden Perreault, and stepsister, Louise (Courson) Sewalle. He is survived by his three sons, Stephen, Dale, and John; his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, and Hannah; and his great-grandson, Hayden. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne J. Courson.

Bill will be laid to rest in the Lunt Cemetery beside his wife.
