Biography:
George E. "Babe" Littlefield 88 of Topsham passed away peacefully at home on October 28, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1937 in Lisbon Falls, Maine, the son of George A. and Irma(Davis) Littlefield.
He married the love of his life, Susan(Bulick), on December 7, 1968, and they bought a piece of land in Topsham where together they built a small farm. He was especially proud of his honeybees and apple trees and loved to share his knowledge of them with many. He also loved flowers and was always picking a bouquet for his wife any chance he got. He Served in the Army, he was a past Master of United Lodge #8 AF&AM and past District Deputy of the 14th Masonic District, a member of St Paul's Royal Arch Masons, Council & Commandery and a 32° Mason in Scottish Rite Valley of Portland, a past Worthy Patron order of the Eastern Star Hawthorn Chapter, a member of Kora Shrine an Honorary Member of Webster Lodge #164 and his love and support of the International Order of the Rainbow for girls earned him the title of "Uncle Babe". For many years he loved growing pumpkins in his garden for the Rainbow girls to sell as part of their annual fundraising efforts. Being a Freemason was an important part of his life; he was able to meet people from all over the world and had the opportunity to travel and visit lodges in other countries and made many connections and built relationships throughout his life. Uncle Babe could always be found with a smile on his face was known for his witty sense of humor, ready to crack a joke any chance he got, and he affectionately gave a nickname to almost everyone he knew.
He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, his parents and his brothers Arnold and Clifton(Kip).
He is survived by his sisters Carolyn Williams and Lorraine Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends near and far who will miss him dearly.
All are welcome to attend services for Uncle Babe on November 8, 2025 at the United Lodge #8, 65 Baribeau Dr, Brunswick, Maine at 11am, and a committal service will be held at the West Bowdoin Cemetery on Sunday November 9, 2025 at 1pm.
