Biography:

Sabattus – Jessica Marie (Jones) Light, 47, a resident of Sabattus passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Auburn.  She was born June 17, 1977 in Lewiston, the daughter of Harold Jones III and Jeannine (Gauthier) Jones of Monmouth.  She attended Monmouth Academy.  During her time working as an Ophthalmic Assistant at Wolf Eye Associates she discovered her love for both medicine and caring for others.  She had the intellect and the temperament – a potent combination – to excel in the healthcare field and obtained her Nursing Degree from the University of Southern Maine.  She held multiple nursing positions over the years, primarily at Central Maine Medical Center.  Most recently as a nurse in same day surgery, which she loved.
Jessica's life changed when her friend and fellow line dancer, Shari (Light) Mayo, introduced her to Shari's brother and she met her soulmate. On August 15, 2015 she married David Light at Niagara Falls.  Jessica was an adventurer who wanted to experience and appreciate what life had to offer.   She has had many pastimes starting with horseback riding, basketball, and line dancing.  She and David shared a love of traveling, music, golfing, and their pup Scooby.  In addition, Jessica enjoyed gardening, hiking, snowboarding, crafting, and – most importantly – spending time with her family.  She is survived by her husband, David Light of Sabattus, her beloved son Devon Poisson and his wife Maegan of Saco, her treasured stepchildren Craig Light and wife Ashley of Sabattus, Stacy Light and her wife Bethanie of Winthrop, her grandchildren Bryson and Gracie, parents Harold and Jeannine Jones of Monmouth, sister Melissa Hamel and husband Nick of Monmouth and two nephews Will and Andrew.  Jessica was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hilda, and her grandfather, Harold who passed away just three days prior.
A public Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday June 17th, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm at the Vista of Maine in Greene.
