Date of Death: February 26, 2026
Date of Birth: November 4, 1959
Biography:
Lewiston - Mark P. Lavoie passed away on February 26, 2026 at the age of 66. Mark was born on November 4, 1959 to Roger Philippe Joseph Lavoie and Alice Adrienne Lavoie (Roy). He grew up in Lewiston, ME. After high school he married his first wife and started a family, having his son, Dennis, whom he loved dearly. As a young man, he headed out west with a few close friends to work in California. His stories of that time were filled with adventure, softball, Mexican food, and lots of ice cream.
Mark was a licensed electrician by trade, spending the majority of his career at Sabre Yachts in Raymond, ME. He was proud of his work, but what brought him the most joy was spending time with his friends and family.
Mark and his wife Belinda Lavoie (Pelletier) have been together for 27 years and live in Auburn, ME. Mark had a big heart and cared deeply for Belinda and their daughter Jocelyn Weir (Lahey), whom he loved as his own.
For many years Mark and Belinda hosted big gatherings at their home, bringing people together to create fond memories filled with laughter. Thursday night horseshoes was always a highlight of his week. Outside of their home, Mark enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends, spending time on Taylor Pond boating, and was a long-time member of the New Auburn Social Club. Mark loved playing pool and was on many leagues over the years, winning the State Championship for the Maine Valley 8-Ball League and most recently playing with his friends at "the Club".
Mark was a bit of an instigator, known for his slightly suggestive bumper sticker on his Pontiac LeMans. He liked to make people laugh and, maybe even, roll their eyes. He will be missed by all those who know him.
Mark is pre-deceased by his mother Alice Lavoie, father and stepmother Roger and Linda Lavoie, his son Dennis Lavoie, brother Scott Lavoie, and sister Dixie Rowe.
He is survived by his wife Belinda, daughter Jocelyn and spouse Kyle, brothers Philippe and Roy Lavoie, sister Heidi and spouse Julien Desrosiers, sister Jessica and spouse Todd Hathorne, brother Jesse and spouse Rachel Lavoie, and his nieces and nephews.
Mark's wishes were to have a big party when this time came, so in his honor there will be visiting hours, a service, and celebration of life held on March 22, 2026 from 12PM - 4PM at the American Legion in Mechanic Falls, 41 Elm Street, Mechanic Falls, 04256. Visiting hours will be held from 12-1PM, the service from 1-2PM, and the celebration of life from 2-4PM.
