Biography:

Bart Hathorne, 74, passed away peacefully at his home on June 15, 2025 after a courageous and brief battle with cancer.

A proud Shriner and true motor enthusiast, Bart had a lifelong passion for anything with an engine. Whether it was the roar of a racecar or the quiet satisfaction of tinkering in the garage, he found joy in the sound of a motor and the satisfaction of working with his hands.  He is survived by his sons Tony Hathorne and wife Ruby Millett Hathorne, Todd Hathorne and wife Jessica Lavoie Hathorne; his cherished grandchildren Anthony Hathorne, Amber Hathorne and husband Travis Work, Hunter Hathorne; and his great-grandson, Jackson White; siblings Nate Hathorne, Stephen Hathorne, Miriam Thibaudeau, Theresa Hicks, Cindy Curtis and Alan Pottle as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his late wife Donna Hathorne, siblings Rodney Hathorne and Debbie Payzant.

Bart will be remembered not only for his mechanical talents, but for his kind heart,  strength, and the deep love he held for his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held July 27th 2-5pm at the New Gloucester Amvet Hall. 1095 Lewiston Rd, New Gloucester ME.
