Virginia A Hale

Biography:

Virginia died peacefully at the Oddfellows and Rebekahs Home of Maine in Auburn. Ginny was the first child of Franklin and Melita Gerry. She was a 1956 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 1960 graduate of University of Southern Maine.

She married Alan Eugene Hale from Millinocket on June 25, 1960. Ginny was a school teacher, daycare provider, and prolific knitter. She was a woman of faith, most recently she was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Zephyrhills, Florida where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served on the Alter Guild. Ginny was also active in the Ladies Oriental Shrine of Cairo Court No. 97 in Lolipop.

She loved her family and many friends, swimming, music, knitting, and traveling to new places.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Jon Michael Gerry. She is survived by her son, Larry Hale of Houlton, ME, sister Martha Hodgkins (Winthrop, ME), brothers Douglas Gerry (Fortaleza, Brazil) and Thomas Gerry (Gorham, ME) and many cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Leeds Community Church in Leeds, Maine on Friday, August 15 at 11:00 A.M.
