Lorette E. Gagne

Biography:

Lorette E. Gagne, 90, of Augusta, passed away on July 11, 2014, at Alfond Center for Care .  She was born  in Augusta on August 10, 1923 to John and Regina Poulin (Audet).

 

Lorette was a very hardworking woman, and worked in  Shoe Shops her entire career.  Lorette was educated in Augusta.

 

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, her parents, her sisters Alberta and Muriel and her brother Raynald, also brothers- in-law, Laurent Gilbert, and Gerard Poulin.

 

She is survived by her sister, Yvette Gilbert, and sister-in-law Joyce Poulin.

Although Lorette never had children of her own, she was especially close to her nephews, Donald and David Gilbert, and her nieces Linda Duffy, and Nancy Minoty, as well as many nephews and nieces, and grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

 

She will be missed and loved by all who knew her.  She was a very special person known for her kindness, compassion and the love she had for all.

 

The family wishes to thank the staff at Alfond Center for Care, especially all the nurses on 1West for the wonderful care given to Lorette.  Also a very special thank you to the staff at Woodland’s Assisted Living Center, in Hallowell, Me for the care given to her the last few years of her life.  She loved living at Woodland’s.

 

At her request there will be no visiting hours.  A celebration of her life will be held at Saint Augustine Church, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.  Committal services to follow at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
