Rita Fontaine

1939 - 2025

Rita Fontaine, 86, of Lewiston, passed on in the early morning of September 19, surrounded by her family. Born in Lewiston on March 3, 1939, Rita was a lifelong resident.

Rita enjoyed sewing, writing, DIY projects, and sharing her home as a day care.

She is survived by her son James and husband Phil Manno, Judi Gagnon and son Ethan, and his wife Briana, Jayna Wilson and husband Donnie, along with their children, Delaney, Jocelyn, and Jacob.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, William Roy and Rochelle (Michaud) Roy, her brothers, Richard and Roland Roy, and her loving husband of 65 years, Roland Fontaine.

Rita will be sorely missed by much-loved family and friends, and all the children she helped care for over the years.

At Rita’s request, a private commitment ceremony will be held at Saint Peter’s for the immediate family.
