Denis Paul Charest

Biography:

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denis Paul Charest, on February 18, 2025, just days after celebrating his 60th birthday.  Born in Lewiston, Maine, on February 7, 1965, Denis lived a life brimming with laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends.  He leaves behind a legacy of generosity and a vibrant spirit that will be deeply missed.

Denis’s life was a testament to his dedication and skill.  For 36 years, he served as a Shipfitter at Bath Iron Works, starting his apprenticeship in June 1986 and retiring with distinction in November 2023.  His expertise was undeniable, but it was his magnetic personality that truly captivated those who knew him.  Witty and charismatic, Denis was often the life of the party, enjoying the thrill of his Harley, the speed of his boat, and the classic lines of his Corvette. He lived life to the fullest, embracing adventure and celebrating with those he loved.

Above all else, Denis cherished his family. He is survived by his loving partner, Julie Snell; his mother, Jacquelin Charest; his sister, Rachel Charest; his children, Nicole Ring, Miranda Charest, and Lydia Rand; his stepson, Maxwell Snell, stepdaughter, Vanesa Snell, and nephew Rick Pomerleau.  He leaves behind five cherished grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring love he shared.  His children will forever remember him as a loving, supportive, and fun-loving father.  He was predeceased by his father, Fernand Charest, on May 5, 2023, and nephew, Dillon Pomerleau, on April 17, 2022.

Denis’s generosity extended far beyond his family.  His willingness to lend a helping hand touched countless lives, reflecting the depth of his compassion and kindness.  He will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments, but for the warmth and life he brought to every interaction.
