Andrew Gerald Black Jr., aged 73, passed away on July 8, 2025, in Brunswick, Maine. Born on November 12, 1951, Andrew was known for his creative spirit, versatility in various skills, and a great sense of humor that lightened the hearts of those around him.
Andrew graduated from Bath Schools after attending Phippsburg Elementary.
He spent his professional life as a dedicated carpenter, a career that showcased his craftsmanship and attention to detail. His work not only built structures but also forged lasting relationships with those he worked alongside.
Outside of his professional life, Andrew was an avid hobbyist. He had a passion for repairing automotives, which allowed him to tinker and innovate, often bringing old engines back to life with his skilled hands. Music played a significant role in his life as well; he was talented in playing various instruments, including guitars, harmonica, and violin, bringing joy and music to many gatherings.
Andrew is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Black; son, Christopher Black; grandchildren, Azarias Votra, Elijah James, and Devin Black; his siblings Eric Black and Mike black; Dawn Black, Cheryl Black; nephew, Cory Cobb among many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, James Black; mother, Evelyn Bold; father, Andrew G. Black Sr.; and grandparents, Andrew F. Black and Adaline McKinney.
A private ceremony will be held to spread his remains, honoring his wishes for a personal and intimate farewell. Andrew's life was marked by his love for creation, whether it was through building, repairing, or playing music, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
